Getting to Know Felicia

What was it about the accounting profession that drew your interest?

I like when things balance out. Nothing feels better than working on a project and everything balances in the end. I also liked the idea of working with multiple clients across different industries.

Tell us about your favorite client.

It's hard to narrow it down to just one as I'm in constant contact with most of them every month and have gotten to know them on a personal level. One of my clients has grown their franchise to multiple locations around Indianapolis and it's neat to see their locations or advertising while I'm driving around. My most unique client is an international runway model.

How do you want to be remembered?

A good mother. A mother who loved her children and supported them whole-heartedly.

Who is your hero and why?

My cousin, Sgt. Jarrod W. Black (Army) was killed in Iraq in 2003 when I was only 17 (he was 26). He gave his life to protect us all and sacrificed his own future with his new wife, two sons, and unborn daughter whom he never got to meet.

What is your favorite sport / sports team and why?

I ran track in college, so my heart is there. I enjoy catching track meets on TV during the season. Also, I'm obsessed with all things Olympics (GO U.S.A.!)

Who inspires or motivates you and why?

My husband. He had many struggles and obstacles growing up and has overcome them and made him who he is today. He is the hardest worker I know, both on the job and at home to make sure our family has everything we need.
