Getting to Know Sandy

Who is your hero and why?

My mom. I lost my mom unexpectedly in March of 2016. She cared for my brother, who has Down Syndrome, for 66 of her 85 years of life. She was a caregiver with compassion who didn't complain about the life that God allowed her. She was full of love and pride for all of her family. I can only strive to be like her.

When you were a child, what did you want to do for a living?

Flight Attendant. I liked the idea of travelling (and still do).

What lesson from Mom or Dad do you still live by today?

My mom always had a saying that she drilled into my sister and I as we were growing up that was "Pretty is as pretty does". She would go on to explain that a person who had physical beauty on the outside could make herself ugly by her actions or that someone with kindness toward others and good actions would show outwardly.

When you are not at work, what do you enjoy doing?

Spending time with family and friends, singing at church or with the Hendricks Symphony Chorus and ladies trio, fishing with my husband, playing with my dog Duke, attending Indy Eleven soccer games, sitting on a nice, warm, sunny beach.
